A device is designed to particularly filter the particulate matters (PM) by catalytic filter, and convert them into Carbon Dioxide (CO2) and steam (H2) using the emission heats from engine or electric heater, etc.
Type | Pollutants Reduction Efficiency of | Warranty Period | Pollutants | Notes |
---|---|---|---|---|
DPF | 80% | 3 years or 160,000 km | Particulate matters(PM10) or Nitrogen oxide (NOx) | Diesel Particulate Filter Trap (DPF) |
p-DPF | 50% | 3 years or 160,000 km | Partial Diesel Particulate Filter Trap (pDPF) | |
DOC | 25% | 3 years or 160,000 km | Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC) |
(Article 32 of the Enforcement Decree under Special Act on the Improvement of Air and Environment for Seoul Metropolitan Area, and Annex 8 under same Act)
Reducer Type 1 DPF(Diesel Particulate filter Trap)
ReducerType 2 p-DPF(Partial Diesel Particulate filter Trap)
This device is designed to trap PM generated as emissions of diesel engine in the catalytic filter and increase the temperature of emissions to 550℃ or higher for its ignition point to remove the emissions
This device is designed to reduce particularly soot in the emissions from diesel engine. Soot is the exhaust or coom containing carbon. If too excessive soot is accumulated on DPF, it negatively affects the vehicle performance and fuel efficiency. For such reason, DPF plays a self-cleaning once soot is reached a certain level.
Type | Heat Supply | Applicable vehicle |
---|---|---|
Spontaneous regeneration | Engine exhaust heat | High-speed vehicles |
Forced regeneration | Electric heater or sub fuel spray | Low-speed vehicles |
Combined regeneration | Combination of spontaneous and forced regeneration | Both high/low-speed vehicles |
A rolled structure in a cylindrical form of a pair of FLAT foil and protruded corrugated foil
A partial DPF that passes through the space between the flat form and corrugated foil; therefore, no declines of fuel efficiency/output and filter siphon ashes are followed by the excessive emissions accumulated on the Wall Flow type Filter; therefore, no regular maintenance is required for the accumulated ashes.
The exhaust gas from vehicle reacts with the catalysis as passing through a DOC to oxidize the gas HC and CO, as well as lubricating oils, incombustible fuels and SOF (Soluble Organic Fraction) in TPM to purify the exhaust gas.
